In this video, Tobi Hann, MOSTLY AI's CEO explains how you can connect to a database from within MOSTLY AI's synthetic data platform and start generating privacy-safe synthetic data.

[00:00:00] Hi everyone. In this video, I want to show you how to connect to a database. There are two ways how you can get started. We can just go here on connect to a source and then click on Create Connector, or you could go here into Connectors and click on Create Connector here.
[00:00:19] Here you see the databases that we support. I'm going to show you how to connect to MySQL database, but in principle, the process is the same for the different database types.
[00:00:31] First, you give this a name. Let's call it Demo. Then you need to provide the hostname, where the database can be reached. You need to provide for MySQL a port, and that's 3306 standard, and that's the correct port here as well. Then you need to provide a username and a database as well as a password. Then you just say click on Test Connection.
[00:01:03] You get the message Connection Successful and you can then save this database, and that's ready to be used on the MOSTLY AI synthetic data platform.
[00:01:16] Thanks for watching.
