We encourage all Ⓜ️ostlies to live life more fully, and one way to do so is through the jobs we fulfill.

To that end, we encourage Ⓜ️ostlies to apply for any open roles (or even propose the creation of a new one, for ex. leading a new service area).

Guidelines for internal promotion or lateral moves:

  • You are a good fit for the role. Even when you don't have direct experience but have an interest and intent to grow in the desired role, MOSTLY AI can support you to make it work.

  • You've demonstrated at least 6 months of success in your current role.

  • Your manager recommends you for the new role, based on your performance and attitude.

  • Apply for the desired role. When the desired role doesn't exist, you can submit a business plan & role description* to your Manager and the VP of People and Operations, who will review the proposal and together with the Management Team will decide on its feasibility.

*must have:

  1. Prepare a business plan and/or outline an existing company challenge

  2. Explain the value of the position

  3. Clarify the position duties

  4. Detail your qualifications

  5. Describe your history with the company

  6. Create a written proposal

  • The hiring team and the relevant potential manager will assess your fit and potential, also taking in consideration MOSTLY AI’s requirements and needs. You will then follow the normal https://mostly-ai.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Public/pages/897126212, with some adjustments if needed.

  • If your promotion or lateral move is accepted, you will have a probation period of 6 months in the new role:

What happens if one doesn’t succeed the 6 months probation period?

What happens if one succeeds the 6 months probation period?

We are committed to providing support and resources to help MOSTLIES succeed in their new roles, but we also recognize that not every employee may be successful in a new position.

If after 6 months (i.e. the internal promotion / lateral move probation period) in the new role one does not succeed, the Management Team will consider whether:

a) it is possible to step back into the previous role;

b) or if there are other opportunities within MOSTLY AI that may be a better fit.

If a) or b) are not possible, the situation will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Congratulations!

Your new position will be officially confirmed via a contract addendum (or similar document according to your type of employment).

If a salary increase is applicable, your new salary will become effective, and a retroactive payment of the salary increase for the past 6 months will be made.

Roles:

  • New roles are advertised on our website: https://mostly.ai/jobs

  • Potential future new roles, which are subject to targets and the growth of the company, are an ongoing work in progress. Please reach out to your Manager to find out more.

Tips:

1. If you’re lacking relevant experience for the new role:

  • Find a training course and/or mentor and work towards the role’s requirements. You should use the Learning & Development budget for this.

  • Study and earn appropriate role certifications (if applicable).

  • Own your future: create your Development Plan as a guide to help yourself manage the transition.

  • Talk to peers in your desired role to better understand what your Development Plan could be.

2. Own your future, own your career:

  • Have a growth mindset. Your abilities and skills can be developed over time through hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Here are some ways you can develop a growth mindset:

    • Embrace challenges: sees challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Approach difficult tasks with a positive attitude and be willing to take on new challenges.

    • Seek out feedback from peers and supervisors. Use this feedback to identify areas where you can improve and work to develop new skills.

    • Learn from mistakes: mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow. Take responsibility for your mistakes and use them as a chance to identify areas for improvement.

    • Set goals and work hard to achieve them. Focus on your progress rather than their limitations and continually strive to improve.

    • Emphasize effort over talent: hard work and dedication are more important than natural talent. Focus on putting in the effort to achieve your goals rather than relying solely on innate abilities.

    • Embrace learning opportunities: seek out learning opportunities, whether it's through attending training sessions, reading industry publications, or taking courses. There is always room for growth and development.

  • MOSTLY AI conducts Performance Reviews twice per year. Take these opportunities to show your interest in a new position, highlighting your past performance and achievements but also showcasing your potential (future performance).

If you’re not selected for the new role, continue to work to overcome the missing skills or concerns raised by the hiring team and the potential new manager. A different new opportunity might be on the horizon. 💪🏽

MOSTLY AI is committed to promote or reallocate current members of our existing team.

However, with internal promotions only, MOSTLY can miss out on the fresh perspectives and experience brought by new candidates, risking dull or stagnant culture that could limit our business from reaching its potential.

Therefore, in some cases, hiring externally is our best option.
