Welcome back! (blue star)

MOSTLY AI is committed to support Mostlies returning from an extended absence due to medical or parental leave.

We hope to facilitate a smooth and supportive transition back into the workplace while balancing the needs of the employee and the company.

Eligibility

This policy applies to all employees who have been absent from work for an extended period due to:

  • Medical leave (including disability leave, illness, injury, or surgery)

  • Parental leave (maternity, paternity, or adoption leave)

  • Any other events that required an absence for an extended period.

Flexible return options

We recognize that returning after a long absence can be challenging. To ease the transition, employees may be eligible for flexible options, which should be discussed with their manager and People team prior to their return:

  • Phased return: Employees may gradually increase their working hours over a set period (e.g., part-time hours increasing to full-time over several weeks).

  • Temporary adjustments: The company may provide temporary adjustments to responsibilities or duties, as needed, to accommodate any limitations.

  • Flexible working hours: Employees may request temporary or permanent adjustments to their working hours or arrangements, such as remote working or flexible start/end times.

Reintegration process

To help employees re-acclimate, the following steps will be taken:

  • Return meeting: the employee’s manager shall schedule a meeting with the employee to inform them of any updates on company policies, projects, or team dynamics, and address any concerns.

  • Training and refreshers: If necessary, training or refresher courses will be provided to bring the employee up to speed on changes that occurred during their absence.

  • Mentorship/support buddy: The employee may be assigned a mentor or colleague to provide support during the initial weeks back to help with questions, integration, and assistance.

Job protection and reinstatement

In compliance with applicable laws, employees returning from parental or medical leave will be reinstated to their former position or a comparable role with equivalent pay, benefits, and working conditions, unless there are circumstances that make this impossible (e.g., company restructuring). Any such changes will be discussed transparently with the employee.

Confidentiality

All information related to an employee’s medical condition, parental leave, or need for accommodation will be kept confidential in accordance with applicable privacy laws and company policy.

Review and feedback

Employees are encouraged to provide feedback on the return-to-work process and their reintegration experience. MOSTLY AI will periodically review this policy to ensure it remains effective and supportive.
